Parent Courses

Parent Courses

We currently offer the following courses to parents and members of the local community:

  • Empowering Parents Empowering Communities (EPEC) “Being a Parent course” for families of children aged 2-11 years old, gives tips for managing family stress, tools for understanding and handling emotions, better communication, listening and play skills and to help build stronger parent-child relationships. It is facilitated by other Wirral parents who have been trained to deliver the course and use their own personal experiences to support other families.
  • HENRY (Health, Exercise, Nutrition for theReally Young) programme is an eight week course designed to help families adopt healthier lifestyles. This is delivered by the Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation and supported by the local council.
  • We have been working with Wirral Lifelong Learning to see the challenges our families are specifically having with their children around sleep. They will be delivering a three week sleep course following on from an introductory session.
  • Online Safety- a four session course looking at the most current issues around online safety to keep our children safe.
  • Separation Anxiety Course offering practical tips and emotional support for parents of children struggling with separation anxiety.
  • Riding the Rapids (Mental Health Support Team) is an evidence based course for parents and carers of children with neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism. It is a 10 week programme that helps parents understand and manage their child’s behaviour by building skills in areas such as positive behaviour management, communication and self-care. The aim is to increase the parents confidence and reduce their stress when dealing with challenging behaviours.
  • Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) course is a 10 week course delivered by Crea8ing Communities. Learn how to understand how trauma and toxic stress impacts childhood development and later outcomes
