General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

As a school, we hold and use information about pupils, parents, staff, and governors so that we can run smoothly and provide the best education possible. The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) sets out how we must collect, store, and use this information safely and responsibly.

GDPR is about protecting personal data and ensuring that everyone’s privacy is respected. This means:

  • We only collect the information we really need.
  • Data is kept secure and used appropriately.
  • Information is only shared with others (such as the Local Authority or Department for Education) when the law allows or requires us to.
  • Parents and pupils have rights over their personal data, including the right to access information we hold and to request corrections if something is inaccurate.

We take our responsibilities under GDPR very seriously and make sure that staff understand how to handle information securely.

If you would like more detail, you can read our Privacy Notice and Data Protection Policy on the policies page of our website. You can also contact our Data Protection Officer if you have any questions about how your information is used.
