A very warm welcome to our Year 1 class. Moving from Reception into Year 1 is an exciting step, and we are here to make sure every child feels happy, confident and ready to continue their learning journey.

In Year 1, children begin to build on the strong foundations of the Early Years through a carefully balanced curriculum that blends play, exploration and more structured learning. We nurture curiosity and creativity while helping children develop greater independence and resilience.

Our focus is on securing early reading, writing and mathematical skills, alongside a rich and varied curriculum covering science, history, geography, art, music, computing and more. Outdoor learning, practical activities and opportunities to explore the world around us remain an important part of the Year 1 experience.

We work in close partnership with families to ensure children feel supported encouraged and excited about their learning. Together, we aim to help every child grow in confidence, develop a love of learning, and achieve their very best.
